Founded in London in 2016 by James and Malissa Brown, Pressed & Folded is an independent design studio creating greeting cards and hand-printed linocuts in small batches in the UK. Their work is stocked by some of the finest independent shops and galleries around the world.

‘Letterpressed in Somerset by Pressed & Folded’ Greeting Cards
Our range of letterpressed greeting cards are printed in-house on a Josiah Wade 'Arab' treadle-operated clamshell platen press, manufactured in Halifax around 1900.
Although the Arab was originally designed to print with movable wooden or metal type, we use it to print our card designs from lino blocks that we have designed and hand-carved ourselves. Each card is individually printed by hand, making every one a little unique.

Originally used to produce proof prints for checking and correcting typeset pages before publication, this beautifully engineered press now gives life to our original hand-carved lino designs, one impression at a time.
