‘A Dozen Footwear Styles’ Linocut

September 2025 marks the opening of the brand-new Shoemakers Museum at Clarks Village, Street, Somerset – a celebration of 200 years of shoemaking history told through the eyes of the shoemakers themselves.

We’re honoured to have been commissioned to create a collection of prints, greeting cards, and postcards exclusively for the museum shop. It’s been a fantastic journey from start to finish, and such a privilege to work alongside such an inspiring team.

One of the highlights has been developing our screen print ‘The Anatomy of a Shoe’. Along the way, we discovered some fascinating shoemaking facts – for example, did you know the part of the sole called the ‘top piece’ gets its name because shoes are traditionally made upside down? We chose the brogue to illustrate the different parts of a shoe: it’s a timeless, gender-neutral style, one of our personal favourites, and such a joy to draw.

You’ll also find our much-loved linocuts ‘Step’ and ‘Shoes’ in the museum shop, available as prints and as greeting cards and postcards.
